Cosmos-1 uses the Sun's photons for propulsion

கொஸ்மொஸ் - 1 (The Cosmos-1) மிஷன் என்று பெயரிடப்பட்டு ரஷ்சிய நீர்மூழ்கிக் கப்பலில் இருந்து விண்ணோக்கி செலுத்தப்படும் விண்கலம் (A solar sail spacecraft) ஒன்று புவியீர்ப்பு எல்லைக்கப்பால் புதிய வகை தொழில்நுட்பத்தைப் பயன்படுத்தி விண்ணில் இயக்கப்படவுள்ளது..! இதன் நகர்வியக்கம் என்பது சூரியனில் அல்லது நட்சத்திரங்களில் இருந்து பெறப்பட்டும் காழற் சக்திச் சொட்டுகளின் (particles of light, or photons) மூலம், சுழற்சி பெறத்தக்க வகையில் புரொப்பிளர் இயக்கம் பெறப்பட்டு நிகழ்த்தப்படவுள்ளது...! இதன் மூலம் எதிர்காலத்தில், புவியீர்ப்பு எல்லைக்கு அப்பால், நட்சத்திரங்களை நோக்கி எரிபொருள் செலவின்றி செயற்கைக்கோள்கள் செலுத்தப்பட வழி பிறக்கக் கூடும் என்று எதிர்வுகூறப்படுகிறது..!

ரஷ்சிய கண்டம் விட்டுக் கண்டம் பாயும் ஏவுகணையில் ஏற்பட்ட சில தொழில்நுட்பக் கோளாறுகள் காரணமாக கொஸ்மொஸ்- 1 செலுத்துகை வெற்றி என்பது பெரும்பாலும் கைதவறிப்போயுள்ளது என்று தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது..!

Sponsors of an experimental spacecraft designed to use light from the Sun to power space travel have conceded that the mission is probably lost.
